The rooftop terrace above the suite was a lovely spot, with sunrise and sunset views, comfortable chairs and sunbeds. The room below it was quiet too, I couldn't hear the visitors in the ground-floor room. Both rooms have parking right outside. I stayed in the upper-floor big suite overlooking the rice fields for the regular price of 1,400 THB. With a couch and coffee table and the bed tucked into one corner, it felt more like a living room. Three windows on different sides gave it fantastic views, though the fields were mostly dry in January 2025/2568. There were bedside lights and outlets, a tiny desk, a narrow cabinet, a clean white tiled floor, two kinds of curtains, and a slim balcony with wooden chairs and a table. The electricity stays on while you're out. I believe these rooms are officially without Wi-Fi, though I sometimes picked up a weak signal from the lobby. The bathroom was comfortable and mid-sized, with some natural light and plenty of room around the sink for my things, but no outlet there. The window didn't seem adjustable. The fan has its own switch, and the hot shower worked well enough. Room service was especially careful: the room was kept tidy, there was a fresh towel every day, and perhaps fresh bedding each day too. The hosts and staff were friendly and open to individual arrangements. There are little patches of cosmos and sunflowers around the grounds, plus about seven medium-sized dogs, mostly rescued from abandonment. They were usually quiet, maybe a little curious, and not a bother. At least one cat lives there too. There are two decent mini markets about a kilometer west along the dirt road. Na Charoen, the next proper village, is about three kilometers away, with a coffee shop, noodle stalls, and a small morning and afternoon market. I don't think bicycles are rented there, though they might be useful for the lovely rice fields and rural roads. A lotus pond at 14.92132 105.01569 was especially full of flowers when I saw it in January 2025/2568, about five easy cycling kilometers from OK Farm. East of Det Udom, the wobbly dirt tracks near the south side of the (Lam) Dom Yai River start around 16 km from OK Farm. The river itself remains out of sight, but by Isaan standards the nature is amazingly lush, with unexpected water, lotus lakes, and bucolic buffalo pastures. You can find the tracks on Open Street Maps based apps and Google Maps. There are simple, tucked-away riverside restaurants on the north side. Downtown Det Udom has limited appeal apart from its lovely market, which is worth seeing around 7:00 a.m. for the sights and food. Sadly, there's no freshly brewed coffee, only Nescafé down a remote, dark aisle, though you can sit there and eat food from other stalls. Khanom krok is sold at the outer southeast street corner. It's also one of the few small-town Isaan markets where you can find the better Thai oranges for 50 to 70 Baht per kilo, instead of the much more common but forgettable 35 Baht ones. One Det Udom live-music restaurant that really existed when I visited, and wasn't just on Google Maps, was “S.Khrueang Duem” by the highway. It's rustic and atmospheric, with exceptionally polite service. The Carabao songs for life were played by a rather underwhelming violin and guitar duo, and it was better to sit farther inside. There's also Night Bar, which wasn't on Google Maps in January 2025/2568, with a music stage. Other Det Udom live-music restaurants listed on Google Maps seemed dead when I visited on a Saturday evening.

It's tucked away from the main roads, but OK Farm turned out to be a real oasis in this rural area. The rooms were spotless and well kept, the Wi-Fi worked great, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the food was excellent. We've stayed here before and it keeps impressing us. We'll be back, it's our only choice, and the place we compare other "Resorts" in Thailand against.

We loved wandering through the beautiful gardens and seeing the care and imagination the creators have put into this farm resort. This place feels like heaven. We have to admit, we'll borrow a few ideas for building our own house in the near future.

The grounds are nicely cared for, the rooms have good equipment, and the owners are friendly. One of the best farm resorts I've stayed at. I hope to come back and stay in the tukkom-view next time.

The gardens are so carefully landscaped that they give the place a majestic feel, and at night the sounds of nature are incredible. Our room had fantastic facilities to a very high standard and was serviced every day. The hosts were also so friendly and helpful. Thank you, Oi and Kevin!! 🙏 Everything about the resort was perfect for me.
