The natural setting is beautiful, and the food is delicious. The yoga shalas are stunning, although music from the neighbors can be blaring at 8am. I hosted a yoga retreat here, and the shala floor was never swept and the mats were never cleaned. The yoga mats were badly worn and dirty, which was embarrassing as the retreat host. I checked the rooms while adding welcome gifts and found that not all had been cleaned: one had a huge ant colony, another had a dead mouse, and a third was missing batteries in the AC remote. Once I reported these problems, the staff were very accommodating. For the price, I expected better, or at least someone to check everything before guests arrived. Ask who else can use the resort during your retreat, since they’ll continue selling the other rooms unless you pay an additional exclusivity fee.

The plant-based food was one of the best parts of my stay at Mala Dhara. It was fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The yoga shala and saltwater pool added to the relaxed, wellness-focused atmosphere, and made it easy to disconnect and recharge. The staff were welcoming and attentive to the details, and the villas were earthy but comfortable, each styled with natural materials. Outdoor showers and lovely views of rice fields and mountains made them feel special. Set among the gardens and lush countryside of Doi Saket, Mala Dhara has rustic charm and a strong sense of sustainability. I felt at peace from the moment I arrived. A dream for a quiet escape, time in nature, or a retreat. I can’t wait to return.

The vegan food is delicious, and the family running the resort are so sweet. I’ve stayed at Mala Dhara many times and will be back again. It’s a rustic, natural-feeling haven, with lovely rooms, a delightful pool, and space to practice yoga or soak up the surroundings. They’ve just opened a coffee and candle shop with a really special, relaxed vibe. Since it’s an eco resort, I’m happy for rooms not to be cleaned daily.

I absolutely loved Mala Dhara. It’s quiet and peaceful, the owner and staff are lovely, and the yoga classes were amazing. The vegan food is next level, 11/10! The cute hobbit-style rooms are cozy and full of character.

At my New Year’s retreat, I couldn’t imagine a better setting. It felt like getting away from all the noise of the city. The resort is beautiful and the staff are lovely. Ploy, who owns the place, is the coolest, most inspiring person. And the food is still on my mind. I’ll definitely be back!
