Bhava Residence

Our room was the Loft Deluxe, spacious and clean, with a lovely view of the city and mountains in the distance. Breakfast was awesome, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Central Festival and Makro are both an easy walk away, which made the location excellent. We stayed one night on our way to Koh Lipe. This was after the recent devastating floods in Hat Yai. The hotel and nearby area are on higher ground and didn't appear to have been affected. We were worried at first that we couldn't get through Hat Yai, but the detailed information from the hotel eased our concerns, and we had no issues during our stay. Thank you!

We had a comfortable room, and the noise didn't bother us much. The toilet was clean and nice, with a huge mirror, and the room had a big fridge, not the usual tiny hotel kind, plus a microwave. Rates are insanely affordable for the experience and service, which were both great. It's not really walking distance to the popular spots, though Makro and Central Hatyai are nearby if you have the energy. Asean and Lee Garden are maybe a 15-minute drive away. We used Maxim to get around since the rates are cheaper than Grab. They provide a hair dryer, but no iron or board in the room; you can ask reception for one. I'd bring travel ones, especially in peak season. There was no deposit, and they only photocopied our passports for their records. I recommend it 1000/10 and we'll come back. I only took one photo because the room looks exactly as advertised, so check the booking sites or TikTok if you want to see more.

I stayed in room 416. The room looked really nice, and the hotel is close to the main road, about a 3-5 minute walk. Staff were polite and friendly, and breakfast was delicious. I still give the hotel 3/5. There were several problems in the bathroom. The toilet water pressure was only moderate, though the faucet pipes flowed fast enough. The water heater kept switching on and off, so the water was hot sometimes and cold at others. Its controller was also broken, so I couldn't switch between hot and cold and had to stick with one temperature. There was no mirror in the room outside the bathroom. I had to wait for my wife to finish bathing and getting ready before I could use it. Please add more mirrors. The door had only a chain lock, no thumb-turn lock, so we put a luggage bag against it in case someone suddenly opened it from outside. Breakfast had to be ordered the day before. There were good food choices, but we expected a buffet so we could decide our own portions instead of having the hotel decide for us. The coffee machine was very slow, taking 1-2 minutes even for one person. There weren't many guests when we arrived for breakfast, but a queue could form later. A regular hot coffee warmer might avoid that. We requested a higher floor for a mountain view, but buildings blocked most of the mountain from our room. We could see only the top quarter.

The hotel is right in the middle of the city, so it was easy for us to get a Grab. They also have a desktop PC with Wi-Fi, not just in the rooms, and it totally saved my day when I needed to work. It was a good stay overall, apart from the water heater issue.
