Khoksametchun Hostel Plus 2

I was only looking for somewhere to shower and rest before my train, after a 16-hour bus ride. I spotted this quiet little hostel on a street corner and walked in to ask about a bed for a couple of hours. The kind receptionist checked and said one was free, so I could check in straight away at 10am. It was clean and had the basics, including a towel, soap, and shampoo. There's also a kitchen and fridge to use. The shower pressure was very low, but that wasn't a big issue for me. It's right in the city, about a 15-minute walk from Hat Yai Junction train station. Definitely recommend if you need a place in Hat Yai.

Each bed in the roomy four-bed dorms comes with a little locker, plug, and light. The mattress is extremely hard, even if you like a firm one. Bathrooms were clean enough, with hot water and good pressure. The place is central and clean, so I'd recommend it for a short stay. My only downside was the receptionist, who was surprisingly unfriendly for a Thai lady, although her English seemed good.

We enjoyed our stay: the rooms and facilities were clean, and the staff friendly. Hat Yai station is about a 15-minute walk away, with groceries, lots of food, and massage parlours nearby. There's also a morning market on weekends. The beds are hard if that's not your thing, but they suited me. You can rent a scooter or bike at the front desk for 300bht a day. Will come again!

Don't come here with a bicycle. You can't store it until 9 p.m., and the receptionist isn't very friendly.
