Kuan Khan Lao The Nine Bistro

From the cafe at Nine Grand Hill Resort, the mountains and Hatyai city spread out in a breathtaking panorama. I stopped there recently while traveling to Hatyai, and the calm atmosphere, lovely menu, and excellent service made it a memorable visit. A really nice mix of nature and city views.

The sunset and city views are wide open from up here, about 310m above the ground, and facing east should give you the sunrise. The breeze is lovely, and when it cools to 23-24 degrees you can just hear the insects around you. It’s a quiet place to slow down and get away from the daily rush, with a real sense of peace. Come ready for a simple stay, though: no aircon, wifi, or hot water, some insects and mosquitoes that go away by 9, and very little lighting. Great if you want nature and isolation, less comfortable if you’re used to city conveniences.

We went up in their free shuttle and had a really fun time. The food was nice, with a great mountain view. We only came for dinner since I wasn’t ready to try the glamping accommodation.

The food was ordinary but cost three times as much. The generator was really loud, employees littered carelessly and threw trash into the forest, and there were no food price signs.
