The location isn’t in the main entertainment area, but Grab scooters are close by and very cheap. A nearby parallel road is busy with supermarkets, fruit sellers, drinks, food stalls, bakeries, and restaurants. There’s also a dentist on the main road who can do a quick scale and polish. I got a large double room on sale. It was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and pillows, a big desk, hot-water shower, kettle, and small balcony. The key deposit was 100 baht. Nights were reasonably quiet despite the major roads nearby.

The staff at Phoom Phan House were really nice and always ready to help, and I appreciated getting complimentary water each morning. During my five nights there, I had a very comfortable stay in a particularly spacious, spotless room. Phoom Phan House in Hat Yai exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hat Yai.

After coming from Langkawi Lagoon hotel, I felt at home at Phoom Phan Hotel. There’s a small balcony with a safety barrier, and a kitchen lavatory. The room has the feel of a history museum, with Thailand and East Asian culture all around: the lighting, furniture, wall art, colorful old-but-gold curtains, new A/C, fridge, and so many tables and shelves to hold things. The architecture and setup say a lot about Asian living. This place feels rich in character, like a healer that restores your body and tries to save your soul too. It feels like more than renting a room, it gives you time.
