Shi-ro-i Poshtel

At 300 baht for one night, this is a good deal for budget and solo travellers. It's about 9 minutes to Wat Chue Chang, 12 to Kim Yong Market, and 15 to Lee Garden Plaza. Since it's outside the main town, there isn't punk disco music or crazy lighting nearby. The mini-room is fairly spacious for this type of stay, with a drawer/table and two hangers, and enough space to take about five steps. The shower wasn't perfectly clean, but it was quite good by public standards. They clean daily, and there were no odd smells or sticky walls or floor. The room was so cold it felt like a fridge: the AC is right over the curtained mini-room, so the cold air stays inside, constantly around 17 degrees. Would I come back? If I were travelling solo.

A great value, with a nice, clean mini-room setup that gives you a proper little space for sleeping instead of just a bed. The staff were super friendly, the internet was great, and there are lots of restaurants and a 7-11 around the corner.

This is easily the best hostel I've stayed in. You get a room, basically, rather than just a bed. There's a laundry and cafe next door with really local prices, and all the girls working there are so lovely. Thank you!

The counter staff were friendly and helpful, check-in and check-out went smoothly, and the bed and room were clean and comfortable. They provide a microwave, shampoo, and shower cream. The lobby was clean, and its toilet smelled fresh. There's an affordable self-service laundry machine next door. The dorm bathroom floor was sticky and dirty from the day I arrived. I hoped the cleaner would get to it by night or the next day, but it was still dirty and hadn't been cleaned. Since shoes aren't allowed in the dorm, the shared toilet and bathroom floor should be cleaned more often, perhaps 3-5 times a day. The dorm design also carries even the slightest sounds clearly, and some people couldn't keep their voices down or follow the rules. It's a good option for solo travellers on a low budget who still want visual privacy. I know they're trying their best, and I hope they'll clean the toilet more often after reading this. Thank you.
