Grab was easy to get, though finding a tuk tuk nearby might be tricky. The innkeeper was a really nice woman, and I even got a queen and queen bed after booking a queen and single through the app. The room looked a bit rough, but it had working AC, a TV, kettle, and hot shower. It’s a humble little motel at a very cheap price for the location, and it did the job as a place to crash after sightseeing.

The location is reasonably close to town and the price is fair. Still, sleeping here was uncomfortable for me. The blanket was very small and thin, the room felt old, and a few electrical items didn’t work. Maybe the owner could make some improvements.

It’s about a kilometer from the town centre, and the walk to Kim Yong market takes around 10-15 minutes. Staff were friendly and spoke basic English. My room was clean and had good WiFi, though my friend next door said theirs was slow. The hotel itself is old and needs refurbishing, but for the low price it was a surprisingly good deal, with hot water, a fridge, kettle, TV, and air conditioning.

The receptionist guy was really friendly and helpful, and you can ask him to find a tuk tuk. I used Grab throughout my trip at Hatyai and found it cheaper than tuk tuk, which helps since drivers sometimes don’t know the place and it’s a bit far from town. For a cheap, reasonable stay that’s good for backpackers, it was clean and they changed the bed sheet, towel, and blanket daily. There’s Wi-Fi and a TV with a USB port, so you can bring a hard disk or USB to watch a movie.

The bathroom was very small and looked unpleasant. The cheapest rate may not come with hot water or a proper hotel blanket, so you have to book a higher priced option for those.
