Ayrest Hotel

The room at Ayrest Hotel was decent, and while the breakfast bread wasn't fresh, the breakfast still tasted good. The reception, though, was the worst I've ever experienced, and the desk staff didn't seem professional. There was no “Do Not Disturb” sign, so I called to say I didn't want the room cleaned. It was cleaned anyway. I asked for extra towels and was told they'd arrive in 10 minutes, but after more than 30 minutes I had to call again. The shuttle scheduled for 4:00 PM left almost 20 minutes late, and punctual departures were rarely observed. I believe reception is the face of a hotel, and their work performance was truly poor.

I used the hotel as a base for a trip to a nearby National Park to see wild elephants, and free transport from here was included. It worked well for that. The next day, I left from Hua Hin train station, just a short Grab ride away. The main sights, shops, and restaurants aren't too far, though for a longer stay I'd perhaps prefer to be closer to them. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the room was clean, spacious, and much better than I'd expected for the price. I stayed only one night, so can't comment on everything. I didn't use the pool, but it seemed clean and looked like a lovely place to relax. Breakfast was the one disappointment. There wasn't much choice, it was just okay, and some food was quite cold even though I went early, at 7am. The coffee machine didn't work either. I'm not that fussy and can get past it, but others may not be so forgiving.

We had a lovely welcome and a fantastic, spotless room, with a balcony facing the spectacular crystal blue pool. Parking was good, and the location was quiet too. Can't fault it, highly recommended!

The room and pool are both enormous, and the staff are so lovely and helpful. This hotel is truly one of a kind. Pretty sure we'll come back ❤️
