The staff were the best part of our stay. The woman at reception, who might have been the manager, was so kind to my parents and always greeted us warmly. A young man at the desk also jumped in to help when he saw my dad struggling to park around the motorbikes. Even the security guard greeted us with a smile each morning. We chose the secluded bungalows for my mom’s birthday after staying at the Hyatt Regency Hua Hin on our last visit and loving this area. They gave us some privacy while keeping us close to both Cicada and Tamarind night markets, just a one-minute walk away. A couple of things could be better. Breakfast would be nicer with fresh milk for coffee instead of powdered packets. Music from Cicada Market carries over until 11 PM, which could bother light sleepers. It didn’t spoil our stay, and the location was convenient. Thanks to the staff for making the place special.

The food market area and the beach are nice, and Thai people in general are the nicest. That’s about all I liked. Service from the woman at the front desk was really bad, and room service was below average. The pool water seemed old, and the bottom was slimy and dirty. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was really nice, and the layout works well whether you want privacy or a chat with the neighbors. Lovely place, kept in good shape.

We stayed six nights and would definitely come back when we’re in Hua Hin. It’s a small resort with just a handful of bungalows around a shared pool, which is exactly what we like. The bungalows are a little old, but still well kept. The staff were great, always helpful and ready to assist. The security men were especially lovely, opening the gate for our motorbike whenever we went out or came back. Being so close to the two weekend night markets was great, though you can hear the noise until 11pm. It didn’t bother us.

We’ve just wrapped up our third stay at Baan Duang Kaew, five nights this time, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. The hut and deck were just right, and the lovely pool was a real treat, with a private area for the sun lounges. Everyone on staff is friendly and helpful. We’ll stay longer next time. Dale a.
