You can get food, drinks, a massage, laundry, and tour bookings nearby, and the beach is only a two-minute walk away. The location is superb. These are simple bungalows run by a Thai family who managed to rebuild after the Tsunami. The owner is a very sweet, welcoming woman who was happy to sort out our extra requests. Rooms are cleaned daily, with bath towels and beach towels provided free. I’d pick this over a big hotel.

Baan Chaba Bungalows sit in a lush tropical garden, just a few steps from the beach and the village center. It’s close to the beach without being right on it, so the setting is quieter. Our host Kathiya speaks French and English, and was the kindest person we met in Thailand. The bungalows were very clean and comfortable, with good AC, a fridge, and everything we needed. We loved our stay and highly recommend it.

The owner was so friendly and helpful, and the beach is just around the corner. One thing to know, the bar on the other side gets loud until 11pm, so avoid staying beside the fence. During a brownout, you also lose water.
