Baan Paa Talee Estate

The first morning’s view was breathtaking, stretching 180 degrees, and the scale of the property took us by surprise. The building felt opulent, with several entertainment and sitting rooms, plus tucked-away spots in the magnificent garden that reaches almost to the rocks and sea. We were a group of 16, and the sincerely friendly staff and sophisticated, gentle manager, Benz, made us feel at ease as soon as we arrived after an easy 40-minute drive from the airport. We had a quick look at our beautifully appointed rooms, changed into our bathers, and went for a late-night swim in the well-placed wet-edge pool and super-warm spa. Supper and drinks had been arranged in advance. As a retired chef, I was impressed by the food’s quality and variety, with extra delicious choices we hadn’t expected. The talented chef is also an experienced baker, and she and her assistant worked tirelessly, served generous portions, and made time to chat recipes. Another staff member makes delicious Thai cakes, and her smiling Thai demeanour won me over. Benz was available without being intrusive. He arranged spa treatments on site and cars whenever we needed them, and the short 10-minute drive to Patong was easy. From the waitstaff to the late-night team, everyone was attentive without hovering. It felt like a home. We hope to return each year if we can. A flawless experience, I’d give it 10 stars if I could.

We celebrated a friend’s 50th birthday here with about 18 people, and the views and opulence were incredible. The villa sits on a hilltop, with nine gigantic rooms, each with an attached bathroom, plus a private pool. It’s sprawling, with fabulous views, and the staff were extremely friendly and provided great service.

Baan Paa Talee Estate gave our corporate retreat of 18 pax a peaceful base near the party, but away from the crowds at Patong beach. Benz led an amazing team who paid attention to everything we needed. Special thanks to San, the night manager, who stayed up late to look after us. If the bosses are reading, Benz is your MVP!
