N.T. Lanta Resort

Treeya Lanta was a beautifully peaceful place to stay, and a great base for enjoying Koh Lanta. If you want a party atmosphere, this isn't the place; we found it chilled and relaxing. We stayed 19 nights, and the service was really good throughout. Man, the breakfast and pool team, and the fantastic housekeeping staff were attentive, always smiling, and keen to help. The bungalows were high standard, the WiFi was excellent, showers were good, and the rooms were cleaned to a high standard each day. The pool was a nice alternative to the nearby beaches, and we always found sunbeds. There are three beaches close by. The nearest is about 3 minutes away, a bit rocky but still nice, with a couple of beach bars and restaurants. Walk five minutes farther when the tide is out and you reach Long Beach, which is nicer and has more going on. Our favourite was Relax Bay, 8-10 minutes away, a bay with 6 or 7 beach bars and restaurants. The sunsets at all the beaches are amazing. Breakfast was very good. We thought we'd get bored over 19 nights, but there was plenty of variety, and the homemade bagels and cakes were a treat. We ate out every night at nearby restaurants, about a 10 minute walk, and found the quality for the price great. To reach the main road from the hotel, you walk up a slightly uneven, poorly lit road. It's at most a five-minute walk and would really only be an issue for people with mobility problems. I'd definitely recommend staying here to explore Koh Lanta.

We're an older couple who have spent winters in Thailand for the past three years, changing hotels regularly and travelling around the country. Treeya works well for us as a base for exploring all the nearby restaurants without needing a scooter. It's a small, adults-only resort at Long Beach's southern end, with the beach about 100 meters away. The nearby southern stretch is rocky and, in our view, not great for swimming, but Relax Bay, which is better for swimming, is a 10-minute walk. The resort is full of plants and trees and is very well maintained. Rooms are in very good condition, with modern, pleasant bathrooms. The entrance door has frosted glass, though, so the room isn't completely dark at night. For this hotel category, breakfast is extensive and good quality. There was a good range of fruit, not just pineapple and watermelon, homemade baking including very good sourdough bread, decent coffee, and a selection that changed regularly. The owner spent several years in France and bakes everything herself. Staff were all friendly and attentive, with Khun Man (MvP) especially considerate and helpful. The pool area is well kept and has plenty of shade, though the older loungers and parasols could use replacing.

The little practical touches made it easy to enjoy the last part of our holiday on Koh Lanta: a canvas bag for shopping or the beach, a torch for dark evenings, umbrellas for tropical downpours, and fresh towels and water replenished daily. The chalets are modern and clean, with quiet, up-to-date air conditioning, and sit among a gorgeous tropical garden. It's a handy location, close to the beach and the main cluster of restaurants and amenities. We arrived from mainland Krabi after a couple of hours' travel, and felt the calm of the resort as soon as we were shown to our chalet. Tiger and the team greeted us with smiles and warmth at check-in. Everyone was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We felt like family, especially thanks to Man, who was kind and attentive all through our stay. Thank you all for a wonderful second week of our holiday. We hope to visit again soon!

Those roosters take their job seriously. They WILL wake you early whether you're ready or not, so bring earplugs if you're not a morning person! Jokes aside, I had a fantastic stay at Treeya Lanta in Koh Lanta. It's great value, with a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere and lovely staff who were friendly, helpful, and always smiling. The food was a highlight too. The pool is on the small side, but still nice for cooling off and relaxing. I'd happily recommend the place.
