Baan Suan Fon

The pool was supposed to be a bonus, but it looked like half water and half pee, and it closes at 6 pm even though nobody seems to be around anyway. If someone drowned, I doubt the staff would know. The place has a good idea behind it, but they need to put in the work to make it better. The room has bugs around the toilet, which needs about three flushes, spiderwebs everywhere, and a light that doesn't brighten the whole sleeping area. The mirror is stuck in a dark spot. The fridge was rated 5 for electricity use, apparently the worst, and the walls are thin enough that neighbours can hear everything. The walkway over the water to the house feels unsafe, like you could easily fall through. As for the workers, they mostly understand only yes and no, are rarely where they're supposed to be, and don't seem to do much.

Good.

There are large rooms for training and seminars, along with enough accommodation for a team of hundreds. The facilities are spacious, and the food was delicious. Rafts are also available to rent, with rafting offered.

On December 31, 2017, I drove from Bangkok toward Pilok Mine and was still searching for a place to stay by noon. With New Year's making everything difficult to find, I kept looking along the way and eventually came across Baan Suan Fon Resort. I was exhausted by 9 PM and relieved to have somewhere to stop.
