Monaz River Kwai Kanchanaburi (SHA Plus+)

The shower products were a bright spot, especially the hair care. The rest was a real letdown for the price, about 2300 BHT a night, which was higher than many other places in Kanchanaburi. I booked expecting comfort and quality, but didn't get that. I won't return. The room smelled a bit like mold, the sink was dirty and covered in limescale, and the sheets were stained. There was no cleaning service or towel change during my three-day stay, and no bar or coffee in the room, not even instant coffee. I also never received water until I asked. Staff said guests could have two bottles a day, then gave me water, but the interaction felt disrespectful. The hotel looks beautiful inside, but service was poor. Some staff were rude and unprofessional, while others, mostly the garden workers, were polite. There didn't seem to be a proper reception. Staff didn't speak English, and when I checked in, I got no information or help finding my room. Some of the women staff talked and laughed in Thai right in front of me and gave me rude looks. The kettle was so awkward that I laughed when I saw it, you had to hold it in your hands to boil water. It's a pity that a beautifully designed hotel in the heart of the city felt so neglected by its owners. Service makes a stay for me, and this place had no charm or character.

I spent a few days here and found it wonderfully cozy and quiet, with birdsong and a cool, green atmosphere. The simple room design felt warm and elegant, and even the scent was relaxing. On Sunday there was no breakfast buffet, just dishes to order. I really liked the rice with pork, though it was too spicy for me. You can ask the waitress for less spice. The night-shift male receptionist was friendly and very supportive, five stars for his service. The female receptionist's English wasn't as good, which caused a couple of issues, but in the end I was happy with the service. I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting somewhere quiet to relax, and I'd come back.

A long, beautiful pool is the highlight, great for relaxing or taking photos. The property is clean and well cared for. I stayed in this loft-style place in central Kanchanaburi, where the minimalist concrete design feels modern and the greenery around it makes for a peaceful, refreshing break in the city.

I really liked the nature, atmosphere, and vibe here, and the staff were kind and helpful. We had a couple of communication hiccups. I misheard a girl say 125 as 175, so I didn't have enough cash, and she couldn't give change for 1000 baht. When I came back with more cash and checked again, it turned out we only owed 125 baht, which I had, so it took a little while. At breakfast, we said we didn't want spicy food, but the rice with pork and basil came out really spicy, and my friend couldn't finish it. Otherwise, everything was really good.
