Andaman Peace Resort

The staff member was friendly and helpful, booking an island day trip for us and packing lunch to take along. Our room was basic but had what we needed, though the bed linen fabric felt odd, so we slept on our sarongs. The resort sits on the beautiful beaches of Laem son national park, but the buildings have seen better days. It was very cheap, so for what we paid, it was okay.

The food is good, and the service is great if you need help arranging island adventures. The beach and mangrove forests are stunning, and there’s easily enough to explore here for a week. The larger rooms tend to book up, so reserve ahead or come in the off-season. It’s a trip you won’t forget.

There was some surf while I was there, and I really wished I’d brought my board. The beachfront room had incredible views, and it was so quiet and peaceful. Lots of room for Mojo to run around, too. The food was delicious, so I’d definitely order it if you’re staying at the resort.

The owner cooked dinner to order, and the Massaman curry may have been the best I’ve ever had. I came for a quiet beach and got exactly that. My cottage had AC, a TV, morning coffee, and several places to hang my hand-washed clothes while on my bike tour. The bathroom connects directly to the cottage, sits outdoors, and is screened from insects. Breakfast was free, and I had fried eggs, sausage, and toast. A mosque nearby can occasionally be heard over speakers during prayers, at 1830 and 1930 while I was there. The cottages are set back from the ocean, with benches and tables closer to the water.
