Some of the apartments have a more tropical holiday feel than others, since a few bedrooms don’t have windows. The units with direct pool access look like the most fun, as you can get into the water straight from your room. The beach is very close, so if I get tired of everything else, I’d rent a place here and have my best holiday. I visited Karon Hill for work and was shown several apartments. They were impressive, including some with jacuzzi baths on spacious balconies and others with dip pools. I’m sure it would be enjoyable to stay here. One thing to know: staff tend to be in an air-conditioned room rather than at reception. Go behind reception, find the room marked Staff Only, and knock.

It’s worth knowing how the accommodation is managed before booking. The condo units have different private owners, and several management companies look after different units. Some belong to the Condotel. Around 30% of the apartments in ARK buildings operate as a Condotel, while many others are privately owned and very well cared for. Palm and Pine buildings feel more residential, with great apartments and stunning views. The residence is amazing and spacious, with beautiful apartments and views, a nice gym, two pools, and a very large territory. Some apartments allow pets.

The old-side fitness room is gross, even though the pictures look nice. The complex seems to have been good once, with three buildings and two pools, but it feels partly abandoned now. It’s weird. The interiors are nice, but the place smelled strongly of mold and mildew. After the first night my nose and lungs were pretty stopped up, so I asked for a new pillow. I looked up how to clean the AC filter and did it myself. That helped, but the smell was stuck in anything fabric. Walking along the road or crossing it feels like taking your life in your hands. A fantastic place to stay, in an ideal location and very well priced.
