We spent five days at D Condo Creek in Kathu, Phuket, and I came away very impressed. Getting around was easy, with cafes, restaurants, and shops close by, and Patong Beach and Central Festival were also accessible. The room had a spacious studio layout, with a comfortable sitting area, flat-screen TV, and a fully equipped kitchen that worked well for preparing meals. I also enjoyed relaxing on the private balcony with its pleasant views of the area. The modern design made the accommodation comfortable throughout our stay. The pool was a highlight, and the fitness center was well equipped. Shared areas were inviting and kept in good condition, too.

I enjoyed living here for over a year. The car park is short on spaces, unfortunately, though the security guards help arrange the cars to fit more in.

I was glad to move out of D-Condo Creek. It feels like a run-down two-star hotel, and I wouldn't choose it for a long stay or as an income investment. Parking is a serious issue if you own a car. There are only about half the spaces needed, so cars get parked two or three deep and you may have to push other cars just to get yours out. The overflow parking field is sometimes used for festivals, which happens a few times a month. Then you have to hunt for one of the few street spaces, walk a long way, and risk a ticket if you park in a red zone. Cars park around the outside of the complex, and outward-facing units get constant noise from traffic, bikes, and inconsiderate people coming and going at all hours. Inward-facing rooms get noise from short-term tourists drinking and smoking by the pool. Everyone also hears the two main roads, including loud motorcycles passing at all hours, sometimes around 4 a.m., which makes for a poor night's sleep. Mosquitoes were bad, and there are no window screens, so letting in fresh air means risking bites all night. The local ambulance is based across the road at the Tessabaan, and its sirens are distracting when it heads out. Street dogs bark through the night as well. The laundry facilities are dirty and poorly maintained, and there is no coin change available.

A few power outages happened while I was there. Noise is another thing to be aware of: kids can be loud during the day, and the bar across the road sometimes plays live music until about 2 a.m. You can hear it even with the windows shut.

It's a nice, secure place to stay in Kathu District, Phuket, and I had a good experience. The rooms are well designed, most facing the pool, and come with useful amenities and kitchen facilities. It's a service apartment near a 7 to 11 store and close to the farmers market. I'd recommend it to tourists staying for around a month. Worth considering.
