Kathu Waterfall Bungalow

I spent 10 days in one of the houses attached to this resort, which they rent by the week. It was lovely and quiet, and I really enjoyed my stay. The owner, Jommie, was super responsive, and they even gave me vouchers for the cute coffee shop next door. Highly recommend.

The location is amazing, and the landlady is a good person. She was nice, kept the outside clean, and cleaned inside once a week. But the place itself wasn't good, perhaps suitable for just two nights. I warn people against Bungalow one or two. I stayed in Bungalow 1, where a roof problem let in humidity. I tried everything to dry out my room, without success. The landlord wanted me to turn on the air-conditioning, but the unit was moldy inside, so that didn't make sense. The roof has two trees above the bungalows that move on windy days, and with all the rain in the rainforest, the broken roof meant damp rooms. My belongings became rotten from the mold, costing me 500€. I asked for a small amount in compensation, but the landlord didn't care about my situation when I tried to speak with him. He acted mean, and seemed selfish, despite the good things I did for them. I feel sorry for the landlady. Update: Yes, I have two names, like almost every Thai person, and both are even in my passport. I didn't have to go to Germany. I had an accident, which the owner knew about, and had to move out because of the mold. I asked for money because my things had gone rotten from the mold. That makes sense. I hope she and her husband fixed it for new guests.

It's peaceful and very nice here, close to everything. Patong Beach is about nine minutes away by motorbike, and there's a very nice restaurant just 30 metres away.

A quiet place with nice owners, good for a stay of a couple of weeks. I'd definitely recommend booking it!
