It's a quiet area within walking distance of town, run by a lovely Thai lady who speaks little English. This may have been the cheapest room in town, and it was well okay. The neighborhood is a bit seedy but not touristy. There are plenty of other options, though they cost a lot more. What else do you need?

The room itself wasn't terrible and it was cheap, but the surroundings were awful. It's beside a temple crematorium, and a bar across the street plays loud music all night, so don't expect peace and quiet. The parking is really cramped too. Our water heater was broken, and the air conditioner barely cooled the room, so we had to use a fan. For just 100-200 baht more, I'd recommend staying somewhere else.

The main drawback is that Baan Ton Tong guesthouse isn't on the beach. It's in Khanom town, with Auntie Nhom's famous roti shop marking the entrance to the soi (alley). The rooms are new, clean, and in good condition, with air conditioning, a TV, refrigerator, bathroom, and a small table and chair. The municipal market, 7-Eleven, and Tesco Lotus are about 900 meters away, so food is easy to find.
