Chonnapha Resort

The breakfast was nice, but the overall price wasn’t worth it. Our beachfront room came with a pool full of mold, very old broken mattresses, and cold water from a 13-year-old water heater that was broken. There were leftover beer and whiskey bottles under the garden tables, and the beach was littered. It’s surprising, since a little care could have fixed all of this.

A peaceful, quiet family hotel right on a clean, unpolluted beach. It seems to be known mostly, or almost only, by Thai locals. The rooms are modern, clean, and well equipped with free WiFi, a TV, air conditioning, and hot water. Knowing a little Thai is useful.

We loved how helpful and kind the staff were. They sorted out our taxi and travel requests and looked after us so well. We stayed for about three nights in mid-September, two French couples in two bungalows, and the other tourists were Thai. The bungalow was clean and comfortable enough, with a boiler, daily water, a fridge, and air conditioning. The setting and service made the price worthwhile, with the resort directly on the beach and two restaurants serving very good Thai and Western food. We won’t forget the staff’s kindness.

The location is great, the staff are friendly, and the rooms are clean, but it wasn’t worth 2,000 baht. The beds felt like stone, and even bags of cement would have been softer than the pillows. Other guests blocked everyone in with their car. At 8 a.m. there was a broadcast about respect for the king. Is this a school or a resort? I’ll never come back.
