B2 Khon Kaen Boutique & Budget Hotel

This used to be a much better standard. The room felt tired and run down, the air conditioner kept making awful noises, and the shower drain was completely blocked. You could also hear the room next door having condensation. You just have to hope your room has been looked after better.

There's hair and dust all over the room, and the building feels old. Parking is cramped and completely unlit. Nothing about the place feels boutique. If you're staying here, book Hop-In across the road instead.

The location is reachable down a narrow soi, and there's not much close by. The building and rooms both look worn: furniture is damaged, and the sink had cigarette stains despite this being a non-smoking room. Only one of the two elevators was working, though that one seemed quite new. No room safe, and the amenities were acceptable. I missed the free wifi information at check-in because it was only at the desk. Why not put it in the room? Calling this a three-star hotel makes no sense to me. Based on what's offered, it's two stars.

The all-night bass from a nightclub was the main problem. The heavy doof-doof made sleeping difficult, and after the music stopped, partygoers on our floor kept making noise. We stayed one night and are moving on to find somewhere we can sleep. The Presidential Suite had a layout that worked for our family of four, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. It could've been good for a few days. But the wifi was too slow to use, the TV only had Thai channels, and one remote had to serve two TVs. There was no toilet paper, hand soap, or spoons for the instant coffee. The shower had black mold all over it. For the price and the hotel's high rating, this was a letdown. Maybe other guests sleep through the noise because they're drunk or high.
