The gardens around the modern bungalows are lovely, and although the place is just off the main street, it’s surprisingly quiet with no nighttime disturbance. The staff were lovely too. We paid a little extra for breakfast, which was more than adequate for the 1,500 Baht per night we paid for two. There was air conditioning, a comfortable bed, good room facilities, and our own balcony. Great value, and I’d highly recommend Kai Bae.

Garden Resort is a great place to relax on Ko Chang. The cottages are cozy, the rooms nicely furnished, and everything was clean. They make a great breakfast in the morning, and the staff are kind, friendly, and always smiling. The owner is funny and easygoing, loves rock music, and performs rock songs every Sunday.

Kaibae has the mix I like: relaxed but lively, less posh than White Sands, with fun bars, music, and restaurants. Garden resort is super chill, with lovely grounds, comfortable bungalows, and a great pool. Mouse and his wife are lovely and knowledgeable, and leave you to do your thing. Mouse has a great selection of films, a dry sense of humor, and a love of music. There’s live music on Sundays. My favorite place to stay in my favorite spot.

We had an amazing 11 days. The pool was clean and awesome, and it was very quiet off the road. Our room and bed were comfortable, and the rooms were cleaned daily. There’s a great Italian restaurant, offering 20% off in monsoon season, and other restaurants are less than 50 metres away. Breakfast was okay, and they were willing to change the menu if needed. The groundskeepers were always around if we needed them. The owner was great about letting us leave a few days earlier than planned.
