The Grand Tree Resort

There are good restaurants close by, and bottled water was provided each day. We enjoyed our stay, with spacious rooms, pleasant balconies, and good air conditioning and a fan. The pool was wonderful and well maintained, with plenty of loungers and parasols. There's also a small bar and a pool table. I'd recommend the place.

The hosts were amazing and really helpful. They speak French, English, Thai, and maybe other languages too. The bungalows are clean and comfortable, with roomy bathrooms, water, and free instant coffee. Around the pool there's a well-arranged spot to relax, plus games like Jenga and pool. It's a cozy place with a very friendly feel, and a great affordable stay.

A cheap local restaurant is right next door, and bars and a few shops are about a ten-minute walk away. Nights were quiet, and the place had a nice vibe. My bed was comfortable, and I liked the slightly firm mattress. There was also a fridge, balcony, and a hot, spacious shower.

The staff were friendly and helpful, though I think the bungalows need more attention. We got two, and neither was properly cleaned. There was poop on the toilets and a bad smell. They did a quick clean after we complained, but the odor stayed, possibly from the sewage. The coffee cups were so dirty I wondered if they'd ever been washed. The pool was okay in size, but had lots of bugs and dirt in it. The area felt boring, with little nearby on the road, so you need a scooter or car to get around. For the price, it was okay overall.
