Avani+ Koh Lanta Krabi Resort

We felt welcome from the moment we arrived at Avani+ Koh Lanta Hotel in Thailand. Reception was warm, professional, attentive, and always smiling. The whole resort was spotless and carefully kept, and the staff were friendly and helpful everywhere, from the restaurant and bar to reception and other service areas. They were attentive without getting in the way. Our room was spacious, modern, cleaned thoroughly every day, and had a breathtaking sea view. Housekeeping were discreet, friendly, and very accommodating. The shuttle between reception and the room was fast and reliable, with drivers who always had a smile. We loved the food from breakfast through dinner, with a varied, fresh selection that was beautifully presented and delicious. The themed evenings were a particular highlight. There was also a small coffee lounge on the ground floor beside reception, with excellent coffee, tasty snacks, and a lovely atmosphere. The beach was idyllic, cleaned, disinfected, and swept daily, and the relaxed beach bar was a great place to end the day. Everything felt well organized, from the service and quality to the friendliness and atmosphere. We were completely at ease and enjoyed every day. We had a lovely stay, and the restaurant view was amazing. The staff were all friendly, and the food was delicious, though we missed having fresh juices at breakfast. The beds felt a little firm at first, but we got used to them after a few days. There were some technical problems with our first room, so the hotel moved us to an ocean-view suite. That made the visit even more special, and it really felt like being in the jungle. Thank you!

The peninsula setting is stunning, with a lush, green jungle feel around the hotel. I had a lovely three-day stay, and the room was clean, with a comfortable bed and a nice outdoor seating area. A few things kept it from being full marks, though. The shower had weak water pressure and a broken nozzle. I called, and the hotel fixed the nozzle, but the pressure stayed poor. Service also felt a little behind the times. At our previous hotel, everything we needed was on a downloadable app, so here I found myself having to ask staff or chase things up. As a vegan, I found the food okay. The restaurant had a couple of options, but not a very wide selection, and the breakfast buffet didn’t mark which dishes had egg or fish. I gave them that feedback. The lunches and dinners we ate there were great. It feels like a hotel on the edge of greatness.

The 7 a.m. fitness classes were a real highlight. The instructors were brilliant, enthusiastic, supportive, and motivating. I also enjoyed the friendly hotel bar staff, and the local bar and beach massage services at the bottom of the hotel were reasonably priced and seemed to be run by people who knew their work. The hotel sits at the end of a beautiful beach. I loved walking the shoreline in the morning to the far end and back, about 5 km, which was a perfect way to start the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back.
