Lanta Corner Resort

The views really steal the show here. For Koh Lanta, you’d be hard pressed to find better ones, and the resort was clean, with housekeeping regularly and the pool cleaned each morning. Our two rooms were quite different: A1 was splendid with no problems, while A3 had a couple of issues, mainly with the water. There are some signs of wear and tear, and there’s breakfast but no lunch or dinner, so plan for that. You’ll need to rent a vehicle to get around. Previous reviews are more or less accurate; it depends on what you want and what you think you’re paying for. For me, it was 10/10.

It’s a quiet, really nice resort with a great pool and lovely sunsets. My main issue was the AC, which didn’t work properly, and in that heat it made staying in the room difficult. Luckily, I was travelling solo and was usually out. The bathroom was huge, which I personally found pretty pointless. They really need to make sure the AC works.

We left after an hour. We’d booked a pool room on Agoda and paid extra for it, but on arrival they said we had a regular room instead. The owner didn’t seem to care and told us to cancel the booking, leaving us without accommodation and scrambling to make last-minute plans. The room we were given had a comfortable bed, but showed clear neglect and poor upkeep. One worker, who I think was called Nath, was genuinely helpful and helped us get a refund, so thanks to him. The hotel itself was badly maintained, and the owner seemed not to care about the place.

A beautiful, peaceful place, with a lovely beach and beach bars just a short walk away. The only issue was the wait for food after ordering, and I’d probably skip the Western dishes.
