Lanta Just Come Hotel (SHA Plus+)

The room was plenty big for two, and the bed was comfortable. The beach is less than a five minute walk away, and they provide beach towels at no charge. There’s a restaurant and coffee in the lobby, help with scooter rentals and excursions, and discounts at other local businesses. We found several good places to eat within walking distance. It’s a reasonable scooter ride to the Old Town down south or Walking Street up north, and both were worth a stop. Great value for our stay, and we weren’t disappointed. I’d definitely stay again.

The hotel itself is lovely, and we really enjoyed our stay, but please be very cautious with the food. I ordered spring rolls from the food they serve downstairs. They were hot on the outside and freezing inside, and I should have refused them, so I take responsibility for eating them. I believe I got food poisoning and had to go to hospital. I can’t say with complete certainty that it came from the hotel, but that was the only meal I ate outside our usual food spots.

The location was the real highlight, and I’d happily recommend the hotel for that alone. We stayed seven nights and were looked after well. We’re backpackers in our late 20s and found it great value; there was a mix of guests, so it seemed suitable for all sorts of travellers. The front desk team were cheerful and helpful, check-in was quick, and the common area was clean. When we got food poisoning from another restaurant and couldn’t leave our room, we messaged reception on WhatsApp. They offered to bring medicine and were really kind about it. Our bed was very comfortable, and the balcony was lovely. We were set back from the road, so it wasn’t too noisy, though a room right at the front might be different. The air conditioning worked almost too well and we couldn’t turn it down, but I’d rather be cold than too hot. The curtains let in light, so bring an eye mask. The shower had hot water, the door had a double lock, and there was a fridge. Our safe was broken. We were on the second floor and heard a lot of banging from above, so we needed earplugs. I’m not sure whether it was guests or something else, so it may not have been the hotel’s fault. You can rent scooters and book transport or trips at the hotel. They were out of the right CC bikes when we arrived, but there are other reliable rentals nearby, and staff can suggest alternatives. There’s also a covered place to park. We’d definitely stay again on our next trip.

Whenever I come to Thailand, this is the place I return to. The owner is kind, and there are lots of good places to eat nearby, including at the hotel. The beach is about 100 metres away, so it’s easy to eat, swim, get a massage, and do it all again. There’s also an ATM, currency exchange, and 7/11 close by. Hoping to visit again soon :)
