The Lazy Lodge

We spent Valentine’s Day here, and the staff made everyone feel special. The sunsets right in front of the beach were lovely, too. We stayed three nights at this beachfront place, where the mood was relaxed and couples only during our visit, with no children around. Our room was spacious and well equipped, the pool was lovely and hardly used, and there were complimentary beach towels. The staff are super friendly, and they make the best margarita. They could probably sell more drinks by checking on people stretched out on the loungers. We often wanted one but were too lazy to get up, which fits the name Lazy Lodge.

This is just about the restaurant: the service was really friendly and attentive, and the Thai food was one of the best meals I’ve had in ages, definitely among my favourites on the island. The flavors were bold, with a great mix of savory, sour, and spicy. Skip the boring Western food and order the Thai dishes.

For the restaurant: the mango smoothie was absolutely beautiful. I’m pretty sure I had the spicy burger, and it was very good. The sauce was great too.

The reusable water bottle setup was a welcome change after all the plastic bottles elsewhere. You can refill at reception. We also loved the cocktails, and dinner at the restaurant was delicious. Breakfast had lots of options and such generous portions that we could barely fit everything on the table. The hotel is right on the beach, with a small pool as another option, and the views are stunning. It has a really relaxed feel. Staff were friendly and helpful, and arranging a scooter through the hotel was so easy. I messaged ahead, and it was delivered the day we arrived and collected afterwards. There are other restaurants nearby, too. We visited Thailand for two weeks, and this was our favourite stay. We’ll miss it and would definitely come back.
