Rawi Warin Resort and Spa

My actual rating is 3.5. This is emphatically not a five star hotel, four at the absolute most. If you expect real luxury, you’ll be sorely disappointed. Picture a huge resort with the usual amenities and lots of young children. There are a few decent pools, the beach is nice enough, the grounds are beautiful, and breakfast is pretty good. Most rooms are up a steep hill. Dinner and resort massages cost 4-5x what you’d pay half a block away, and snorkel rental is 200baht per day. The beach guests can access directly is very short, maybe a 5 min walk down. To reach the rest of the beach with shops and bars, you have to take a big detour. I’m not sure why they don’t add simple steps over the rocks. I splurged on the private villa for our honeymoon. The online pictures were definitely strategic, but it was still a nice space, and the private beachfront pool and direct access made it special. Other guests kept using our path, though. Staying there helped us avoid many of the issues, including the screaming children, but not all of them. The resort feels dated overall, and the gym needs refreshing. Wifi was spotty and unavailable in several parts of the property. If all you care about is the beach and pools, and you want a big resort, you’ll probably be happy. A five star rating that makes you expect the Ritz will disappoint. For a couple wanting that tropical fantasy, the villa may be worth the splurge. Watching sunset over the sea from the pool was magical.

The staff were so friendly and by the end we felt at home, which made leaving hard. We had a wonderful 8 nights at Rawi Warin and didn’t want to go. Our villa felt private but was still an easy walk to the pool and breakfast. Breakfast was great. My eggs were perfect every day, and the pancakes were the freshest I’ve had. The pool is lovely, though it got busy and people reserved sunbeds early in the morning, so we spent more time on the quieter beach. The location made it easy to walk to restaurants and shops nearby. We also rented a motorbike through the hotel and enjoyed exploring the island and driving to other dinner spots, though taxis could easily take you anywhere. I highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again when we return to Koh Lanta. A final shout out to the manager, Eric, who was super friendly and clearly doing a wonderful job. Thanks to everyone for a great stay. We’ll be back!

Beautiful garden and jungle surroundings, a nice beach, great rooms with an awesome view, and fantastic service. Breakfast was great too. Over the whole week we ate something different every day, and everything tasted good. This place is simply perfect. I’d give it 10 stars instead of 5. Probably the best hotel we’ve ever visited, and we travel a lot.

We really enjoyed our 10 days at Rawi Warin Resort & Spa. The food was great, and all the staff were friendly, kind and welcoming, making the stay comfortable. Around our checkout near December 17, the mood shifted as the Christmas Holiday season began. More families with babies and kids arrived, breakfast got quite busy, and the pool felt much more like a kids’ play space. We hadn’t noticed that when we first checked in. It’s a beautiful resort, but if you’re after a quieter, more relaxing visit, Koh Lanta may be better outside the main holiday season. We had a wonderful stay overall and would happily come back.
