The receptionists were polite, apologized, and did try to help. Unfortunately, the problems in the room never got sorted out. The toilet was dirty when I arrived, and each flush brought more dirt out, even after I reported it and the cleaning staff tried to fix it. There was hair in the bathroom too. The bedding was uncomfortable as well. The blanket was sandwiched between two loose sheets, so everything twisted around me during the night. The building looked neglected, with peeling walls, and the entrance felt more like an accounting desk than a hotel reception.

We planned to stay for two nights, but left after the first. The room was dated, sparsely equipped, and had no safe. What really made us leave was the awful smell, unlike anything else on our Thailand trip. I can't quite describe it, somewhere between mold, cooling fluid, and something sweet. The pool was okay, though it didn't look very clean.

The location worked well for us: far enough from the center to avoid the crowds and noise, but still not too far away. Reception responded quickly too. The air conditioning broke overnight, and when I went down at 7 in the morning, it was fixed by 7:15. At 1,300 baht a night, the private cabin had a double bed, air conditioning, and a bathroom, so the value was pretty good. A few simple things were missing, like a second bedside light, more than one power outlet, and somewhere to hang clothes. The bathroom was otherwise okay, though the water took a while to warm up and the toilet seat was broken.

The pool was very good, the staff were helpful, and the location was perfect for us. We were even given our room in the big building two hours before check-in at no extra charge. The room was fine and the air conditioning worked without any trouble. You can tell the place is past its best, though. The rooms could use a proper clean and some maintenance, including replacing the silicone. For the price, I can't really complain.
