Phi Phi CoCo Beach Resort

Breakfast was the best we've had across four hotels so far, and our bungalow is cute, with great air conditioning and a comfortable bed. The only thing I'd change is the storage. There's not much space, and we don't even have much to put away. We arrived early on the 8:30 ferry from Phuket and were lucky to get our rooms ahead of time. We had lunch in the beautiful restaurant overlooking the private beach. The food was amazing and there was a great choice. Our first bottle of Sauvignon Blanc knocked us out! Our room, 615, is right at the back. We chose it knowing we'd read about nighttime noise. The kids were in room 416, where people party every night, but it didn't matter. We crashed around midnight. I used earplugs and slept fine. I'm a light sleeper and could hear music, but it didn't keep me awake. Looking forward to relaxing by the pool and exploring Phi Phi today. It has changed beyond recognition.

Bolly at reception made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, and the pool and bar staff were so helpful. The bamboo villas are a simple delight, with everything you could want, including complimentary drinks and snacks. Breakfast has loads to choose from and was divine. They collected our luggage from the ferry and took it back there when we left. The main bar and shop area is a five-minute walk away. You can hear some noise at night, as other reviews say, but it wasn't enough to disturb us after a day by the pool. We had the most relaxing time. I've stayed at several different hotels on Phi Phi over the years, but next time I'll only book here.

The resort looks beautiful, the food was reasonably good, and it's right on the beach, though the beach itself isn't the best. Those positives didn't make up for a disappointing stay, especially since I chose Phi Phi Coco Beach Resort for my birthday. Noise was a major problem. The room insulation is so poor you can hear everything from neighboring rooms, even what people are watching on their phones. The kitchen closes at 9:30pm, which several guests were complaining about. That's restrictive on an island where other options may not be close. Housekeeping mostly just made the bed and left. I had to ask again and again for water, coffee and towels, and to have the trash taken out. Breakfast was another letdown: only packaged juice, no fresh juice even when requested. It was meant to run until 10am, but both coffee machines were off before then, and at 10 they started clearing everything away. The staff felt rude through the whole breakfast experience. I was also told I could use the paddle board just once for one hour total, despite staying three nights. That felt very restrictive for this kind of hotel. Reception staff were okay, but the rest of the team didn't feel welcoming, and the hospitality was almost nonexistent. I don't usually complain about hotels, but this was a big disappointment for an important occasion.

The bamboo cottages are thoughtfully put together, with details like wooden pencils and tables, bamboo lights and stands, and eco-friendly window screens. It felt really good to stay inside one. There's an Android TV with wifi, plus a soothing pool by the private beach. The room bar was complimentary for the first time and had soft drinks, snacks and two small beer cans. We stayed one night and had an amazing time. I'd highly recommend it. The two things that disappointed me were the distance from Ton sai Pier and the limited vegetarian choices at breakfast.
