Phi Phi Don Chukit Resort

The cafe has great food and wonderful service, and the staff were always there to help. The infinity pool and cafe views were the best part, with a corner view and what felt like a prime location anywhere on the island. Our room was clean and quiet, perfect for a couple. This is where I'd stay again when we come back.

The pool overlooking the bay was a highlight. We spent loads of time relaxing there, and the balcony view was lovely. The air conditioning was amazing in that heat. The location also worked well for a few nights because it was quiet and a little away from the busy main part of Phi Phi. The bathroom was a problem. The wet-room shower setup didn't work properly: the drain was behind the toilet on the other side, so water sat all across the floor all day. There wasn't proper ventilation, it felt gross at times, and there was mould on the walls. The staff seemed disorganized despite there being loads of them around. At about 3pm we asked for a drink by the pool and were told everyone was on break. The restaurant is meant to be open all day, and there were about eight waiting staff there, so surely their breaks could have been staggered. Other people were being served while we had to wait until 5pm. It put us off eating in the restaurant. They also add a 5% service charge and 7% island charge, an extra 12% that we didn't encounter anywhere else. It's a good spot for a short stay because of the location, but some things could definitely be improved.

We had planned to stay at this hotel in April, but have now removed it from our itinerary. A hotel that doesn't respect its guests, especially women, doesn't deserve our support. Menstrual accidents happen, and sheets can be washed and cleaned. Calling a sheet “damaged beyond use” because of menstruation is unacceptable and simply untrue. It's disrespectful, humiliating and inadmissible. After this, we decided not to stay there.

The hotel is at just the right distance from the crowded pier, neither too close nor too far. Its cafe is the heart of the place, with an infinity pool, and the rooms are spacious.
