Phi Phi Island Cabana Hotel

A rat ran from the bathroom toward the bin after I heard rustling around midnight. I couldn’t believe it. I’ve stayed in all kinds of accommodation in 75 countries and never had this happen, especially at a resort. The staff tried to help and maintenance sprayed the room, but with a language barrier, even using Google Translate, they couldn’t explain how it got in or whether it was still there. I’ve since seen other reviews saying the same thing, which is unacceptable. The location and views are the only things going for it, but they don’t justify the price. The rooms were poorly cleaned and in bad shape, and significant work is needed. The photos made the hotel look great and the location seemed amazing, so the price had looked worth it before we booked. In person, the room and common areas were dated and badly run down, in need of lots of repairs and renovation. I usually wouldn’t complain about decor, but I left completely unsatisfied. There’s also a very loud party hostel way down the strip. Its music blasts until 3 am every night, loud enough that you can feel the bass rumbling through the room. Light sleepers, be warned. I definitely wouldn’t come back or recommend this hotel. You could find better quality elsewhere on the island.

The rooms were okay, but not as clean as we expected, and we found a cockroach in ours. Even so, the view from the hotel was absolutely stunning, and the pool area was beautiful and very clean, just right for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. We had a nice stay on Phi Phi Island. With more attention to room cleanliness, this place could be truly great. The view and pool made our time special.

The room was decent and clean, but the building and amenities are very old. Breakfast was very average. Still, the pool is beautiful, and this spot is close to the pier, great restaurants, the beach, and places open at night for late-night life on Phi Phi Island. It’s a great location near the island’s attractions. This time I didn’t want to stay near long-beach. Late at night, getting back to a hotel by tail boat can be difficult when there’s a full moon and high waves. They can charge us super absorbently high fares, and it’s also possible you’d be asked to get off in the middle of the ocean, where the water comes to thigh level, even for me and I’m tall. Then you’d have to walk to your resort or hotel. This place is good for island living.

The staff were really accommodating and helpful. They pointed us toward laundry, good places to eat, and our dive school. You can tell the hotel is older and has a few rough edges, but the people are lovely. The pool is lovely, the view is amazing, and private access to the quieter side of the beach is a nice bonus. The location is incredible, about as good a spot as you could ask for on the island. I’d read reviews mentioning poor water pressure, but it seemed to have been fixed by the time we visited, as it was just fine.
