Sea Love Beach Bar und Bungalows

We chose the deluxe room after first reserving a standard one, and from what I saw later, upgrading was a good call. The room was fine, with a large tinted window, wardrobe, spacious bathroom, and a roomy, useful terrace. The bed was very firm but comfortable. The bathroom needs some attention: the tap was loose and leaking, and the shower had tape repairs. The white walls could use a refresh too. You can tell the owners have put a lot of effort into the property. The hotel is well located. The beach is okay, though we usually went to other beaches on the island.

We were there for two nights and would come back in a heartbeat. The hotel looks amazing, with a lovely view and nice beach, and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. We booked a smaller room, but the bathroom was still really spacious. Staff helped us book taxis, and the owners were exceptional. We found an injured dog hanging around the area, and they went out of their way to take it to a rescue center and reunite it with its owner. That made the stay extra special for us. It's right next to the night market and close to popular places like Amsterdam bar and haad rin. A must stay!

We were disappointed by the beach outside the accommodation. There wasn't much sand and the water was very shallow, so we had to go to other parts of the island to find nicer beaches. The bungalow was run down and in poor condition, and there was no warm water in the shower. We found a small lizard in the bathroom when we went in, and it ran away, so there must be some holes behind the walls. There were mosquitoes everywhere too.

The beach and the view were hard to beat, and Sea Love ended up stealing my heart. I stayed in a beachfront/seaview bungalow. It was small but had what I needed, including a mini fridge and somewhere to hang clothes. No TV, which was fine, and the free Wi-Fi was very reliable. The bed was really comfortable too. The place has a sweet, quaint feel, and I felt at ease as soon as I arrived. It’s got a beachy hippie style, with simple accommodation that’s been put together with care. The Bali bean bags, hammocks, handmade earthy signs, and thoughtful food and drink presentation all add to it. They even swapped the bamboo room decorations for poinsettias around the holidays. It felt like the owners cared about the place as more than just a business. The staff were attentive and helpful. Food was very good and nicely presented. You can find cheaper meals outside the resort, but for convenience, portion sizes, and resort food, I thought it was great. There was a good variety, and I had the best French toast I’ve ever tasted. It’s a beach resort in the tropics, so bugs, lizards, and the occasional jellyfish in the water can happen. You walk through sand around the small resort, which is to be expected on Koh Phangan’s beaches. The room was simple, but I didn’t spend much time there anyway. It was my only stay on the island, but the price seemed reasonable for the location and what was included. My one criticism is that it was hard to reach someone by phone or email before arrival to confirm the booking. I did have a confirmation number and didn’t actually need to check, it’s just something I tend to do when I travel. Also, as a solo traveler, I wish I didn’t always have to pay for double occupancy, though that seems to be the same everywhere. I’d absolutely stay again.
