Sabai Sea View Bungalow

The bungalows are self-contained, and the view is gorgeous. It's a great location, far enough from town to feel quieter, though you can still hear the island's party spots at night. We didn't find the noise too much of a problem. The staff are lovely and happy to help with anything. With the hill and big bags, it's worth asking them to arrange a wheelbarrow pickup from the ferry drop-off.

The view was beautiful, the staff were very friendly, and watching monkeys appear at 7:00 AM was interesting. They attacked the trash and rummaged through it for about 40 minutes during our stay. But the room wasn't cleaned once in our three nights, every faucet leaked, and the fridge broke on the second day. Even the new towels smelled a little. I wouldn't recommend breakfast: the menu picture showed something different from what arrived, and the food seemed to be prepared in questionable conditions. I skipped it every day after seeing what they brought my wife. The hotel is far from the center, up a hill with a good sea view, but the surroundings are dirty and poorly kept. The beach bar played very loud music every night, with parties until 3:00 AM. If you just need somewhere simple to sleep or enjoy partying, it may be okay. For a relaxing stay, I wouldn't recommend it.

The nearby club music was incredibly loud, and this is definitely not the place for peace and quiet. The bungalow was far beyond shabby, with mold, curtains and a shower hanging off, and no key for the safety deposit box. We booked three nights but stayed just one and moved on. They offered no refund. Avoid it.

The owners were so kind and sweet, and nothing we asked them to arrange was too much trouble. They made us feel welcome and helped book tours at a good price. The room was spacious, with a great 180° balcony. It's right next to old town and some of the best restaurants. Scooter rental was 200B per day, very reasonable. Perfect overall.
