Dara Samui Beach Resort - Adult Only

We had a lovely nine nights at Dara Resort. The beach access made it feel like a real holiday, and the location was fantastic. The caring staff went out of their way to help, and breakfast was delicious. The woman making omelets did an amazing job each time. Thanks for having us, we’ll be back. Ron and Chris

We arrived late at night after a long flight, exhausted and hungry, and Abigail and her lovely colleague Cartoon greeted us at reception with huge smiles and real kindness. They made check-in pleasant and easy even though it was so late. While our room was being prepared, we went to get something to eat. When we returned, they were still waiting in the lobby to hand over the key and explain the room and hotel facilities. Seeing them again during the stay was always a pleasure. They were warm, friendly, professional, and made everything feel personal and memorable. The beachside location is unbeatable, the breakfast and food were delicious, and every staff member we met was smiling and helpful. We had an amazing stay at Dara Samui and will definitely return. Highly recommended!

The friendly staff were polite and made a genuine effort to help. That was the only good part of our stay. The facilities were poor, and the dated rooms need significant refurbishment. The beach was effectively unusable. During our visit, the hotel carried out pool maintenance for two days, and high tide meant guests had neither the pool nor the beach. That was poor planning and showed little consideration for paying guests. We were told before booking that vegan food would be available, but there were no suitable choices. That was disappointing and misleading. Loud music from nearby beach bars also played until around 5am each morning, making it very hard to sleep. We planned and saved for this holiday, and the stay fell far short of reasonable expectations. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, honesty, and a relaxing break.

The breakfast buffet was jaw-dropping, with so many good Thai and Western dishes and something different each day. It was hard not to start the morning by overeating. The resort was quiet at night, even though nightlife and markets were within walking distance. Planes passed almost overhead during the day, but there weren’t many, so it wasn’t an issue. Our room was big, with a small safe and its own Wi-Fi. The front patio was pretty, with koi ponds where you can sit and feed the fish. The pool is small, but the beach is where you’ll want to swim anyway. The bed was attentive and friendly, anticipating what we needed.
