Dreamland Resort

A great place to stay on the quieter side of Koh Phangan. There are plenty of loungers by the pool, so no need to get up early to claim one. The little bungalows are lovely, the staff wonderful, and the restaurant food delicious. There are also lots of other options along the beach, road, and in the next town. What more do you need?

Set on an idyllic beach, it’s lovely to walk along with jungle-covered mountains all around. You can get to the “high street” in a three minute walk for more food and drink choices and a 7/11. The pool is large, the restaurant food is great and very reasonably priced, and all the staff were welcoming and friendly. The accommodation is basic but perfectly adequate, with a smart TV that has casting and strong WiFi across the property. A real gem away from the tourist hotspots.

This is an authentic Thai resort on a nice beach, though the beach depends on there being no wind or waves. The restaurant has a good variety of food at fair prices, and the included breakfast offers plenty of good choices. I’d suggest replacing the bathroom faucets, since they open in two directions and it’s easy to leave the tap running by mistake. The bathroom also needs an upgrade or a good scrub.

The location, beach, pool, service, and prices all get five stars from me. Cleaning and room maintenance get two. The resort has the potential to be perfect, but although the cabins look great outside, inside they’re outdated and haven’t been maintained.
