I still like the restaurant coworking area and pool, and for the price the overall value seems reasonable. But the shouting and sleepless nights have made the place too stressful for me. The beds were also much more comfortable three years ago. Now the mattress feels cheap, and the pillows are huge and unusable. I loved it when I stayed here three years ago, so it’s disappointing to see how things have turned out. Now loud young Israeli guests party several times a week, singing and shouting through the night so people can’t sleep. I went out several times to try to talk to them, but it didn’t help. The staff are nice, but they don’t seem able to do anything since they’re not around after 9 PM.

We all had Thai food at the restaurant, and it was delicious and well priced. For our sunset dinner reservation, they set up pretty tables and a baldahin on the beach, cleaned the sand and even made a heart in it. Such a sweet touch! ❤️☺️

The staff were genuinely kind, and when the boiler failed on my first day, reception sent someone to fix it quickly. Still, I wouldn’t recommend this place if you aren’t a young, low-budget backpacker. I booked after reading good reviews and wish I hadn’t. I’m 36, a woman traveling alone, and have been traveling full time since 2017. I’ve stayed in hundreds of budget hotels, hostels, bungalows, beach shacks and Airbnbs. I don’t expect luxury, but I do care about basic comfort and amenities, and this place felt run down, especially around the pool and beach. I chose the most expensive double room, hoping it would be more comfortable. Apart from being larger, I don’t think it offered much more. The cheaper rooms are at the quiet back of the property, while the pricier rooms sit by the restaurant, where loud, bad music and buzzing bass play all day. I would have preferred a cheaper, quieter room. The mattress was extremely firm and left my shoulders aching after the first night. They didn’t have a topper, though they apologized sincerely. I know that wasn’t the staff’s fault. The room had a kettle, bottled water and two cups, but no coffee and no power socket near the kettle. The fridge smelled so bad that the odor lingered after I closed it. A light outside the balcony entrance stayed on all night, and the curtains didn’t block it, so the room stayed bright and it messed with my sense of night and day. The room was large, but it was hard to relax in it. I booked for the beach location and pool, hoping to lounge and enjoy the view. It rained most of my stay, and I wouldn’t recommend this place in rainy season. With the restaurant music outside and uncomfortable balcony chairs, the only place to sit and relax was on the bed inside, where there’s just a small window. The reviews I read didn’t match my experience. I think honest reviews matter so people know what to expect.

Clean rooms, friendly staff and easy access to a great beach. We couldn’t have asked for more to enjoy the island!
