Phangan Pearl Hostel

I liked having a quiet dorm near Haad Rin, within walking distance of the Full Moon Party, restaurants, and a 7Eleven. Even on party night, only four of the twelve beds in my dorm were occupied, which gave me some peace. The rooms are spacious, there are lockers for valuables, the toilets are decent and plentiful, and both the AC and Wi-Fi worked well. Still, I felt uneasy about security and cleanliness because there was no staff around during my stay beyond the brief check-in. The morning after the party, most guests checked out and the hostel felt deserted. I may have been the only one left, and housekeeping hadn’t tidied the dorm after the departures. There was nobody around to ask for help.

The AC was weak and the power went out. They also give two people just one key and won’t provide a second.

The pool area felt clean and had a great vibe, and the hotel was quiet when I returned from the festival, even on the party night. It was about an eight-minute walk to the beach and event, with plenty of shops and restaurants along the way. Breakfast came with the stay and was decent for something free, just a short walk away. Check-in was easy, and the staff were really kind and accommodating. I arrived exhausted and in tears, and the front desk treated me gently. In my room, the AC was great, the bed was okay comfort-wise, the hot water was excellent, and Wi-Fi worked well. I didn’t use the gym. I stayed three nights during the Full Moon festival and was glad I chose the place. The price was fair for what you get.

The staff were kind, friendly, and helpful, and they took good care of keeping the rooms clean. Our room was spacious enough, the beds were top quality, and the AC worked like a charm. There’s a large pool area with drinks and music. We spent two nights here with friends. The location has a great Full Moon Party atmosphere, and you can walk to the party in under ten minutes. Rates rise for those dates, but the location helps make up for it. We were disappointed by the included breakfast, though, since there were very few vegetarian choices. I’d come back next time I’m in Koh Phangan.
