Silan Residence

We spent three weeks at Silan and loved it. It’s easy to get around from here, with a 7/11, Lotus, cafés, and restaurants nearby. There’s direct access to the sea and some nice pools. The garden is beautiful, the place is clean, and the rooms were cleaned daily with towels changed regularly. Everything felt well thought out, and any request we made was taken care of right away. Highly recommended, we’ll definitely return!

The rooms work really well for families, and the location may suit you if you’re taking boats or want to be near the Sunday night market. Otherwise, there isn’t proper beach access. I’d personally choose Sri Thanu or Hin Kong instead, since both are better placed for attractions for younger and older family members. Service was the biggest problem for us. Laundry was ready but never brought back to the room, even after we followed up. Room cleaning was inconsistent, and the dishes weren’t washed. When we asked for help, the response often felt cynical and unhelpful. Checkout became needlessly difficult too, with a request that we pay 450 baht for towels we hadn’t lost or a plate.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the location is excellent, close to everything. Our room was clean and in good shape. The kitchen was pretty basic, with no blender or cooking oil, but we could still make simple meals. We were far enough from the pool that afternoon noise wasn’t a problem for us. If your room is nearby, kids sometimes come play there in the afternoon.

The villa was nice and practical, and I liked the pool. Service was disappointing. It felt like we weren’t entitled to any service at all, far from what I’d expect as Thai standards. At checkout they tried to charge a “panelty fee” for a beach towel and plate, even though we hadn’t lost anything or taken anything out of the room.
