Vannee Golden Sands

Everyone on staff was amazing and incredibly kind. Milo was the sweetest waiter in Koh Phangan: caring, attentive, and always ready to bring whatever we asked for. He helped us, guided me around the island, and was consistently warm, friendly, and smiling. The hotel was wonderful and conveniently close to everything in Haad Rin. We really enjoyed our stay, and they even had gluten-free pancakes for me, since I have celiac disease. Thanks so much for the excellent service. We truly appreciated it.

The location worked well for us, about a 5-minute walk into town and around 10 minutes from the pier. The beach is nice, the gym is good, and the pool is large, though it’s salt water. Facilities are good overall. Our standard room was quite small. We asked about an upgrade, but it was about £115 a night. The room was noisy, with sounds from other rooms and passing cars carrying through, which made it hard to sleep properly. Breakfast was okay, though the selection wasn’t the best.

We really enjoyed the massages during our stay, and the hotel complex is beautiful. The staff put a lot of effort into keeping everything in good shape. The pool was well cared for, and restaurant staff at breakfast made sure guests were comfortable. The Kids Club employee was especially kind and took wonderful care of our child. It might be good to add a few new toys there. The youth groups were sometimes loud and inconsiderate, which wasn’t ideal for families with children. Also, the drainage in the main building needs checking. You can constantly hear loud gurgling when someone in another room showers or uses the toilet, and it’s quite noisy.

A special thank you to Chef Sam for preparing such excellent, delicious food every day. Zar and Dave were also incredibly kind and welcoming. They felt more like friends than staff, and were always there when we needed help. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. Staff were friendly and helpful, and did their absolute best whenever we made a request. We had an amazing stay, warmly recommend the place, and would definitely come back.
