The hotel app made it easy to order room service, meals, laundry, and other services, which helped make the stay comfortable. The food was fantastic in both taste and presentation, and the facilities were clean and well maintained. The place felt calm and relaxing, with a peaceful pool area and a beach about a five-minute walk away. Rooms were spacious, attractive, and good value. There are also plenty of nice bars nearby, with friendly staff. What stood out most was the team. They were genuinely kind and welcoming, helped us book island tours, and went the extra mile throughout our stay. We'd gladly return and recommend the hotel.

The surrounding area was another part of the problem. This overdeveloped place sits among a lot of local development, with booming music until around 3 a.m. People seemed to smoke in all the local bars. The whole experience is one I'd rather forget. Although the property is a modern development, the ground-floor room I was assigned needed renovation. I'd booked a deluxe room with a balcony but was given a ground-floor room. It smelled damp and musty, the bedding and towels felt not quite dry, and the towels were grey and thin. The TV didn't work, and there were paint touch-up brush marks on many of the walls. It was a last-minute booking, but still not what I'd expect from the Centara brand. The breakfast areas weren't clean. Tables hadn't been wiped, and food splatters were left on many serving surfaces. I raised all this at departure, but the staff member focused on her phone and kept saying, “One moment” while messaging. I was offered a free lunch, which didn't feel acceptable after the breakfast issues. I later wrote to complain and was offered half my money back, which wasn't acceptable. They admitted and apologized that standards had fallen short. When I asked by email for an 80% refund, I was told, “You should have let us know when the incident occurred and we could have done something about it.” That response didn't have the conciliatory tone of the first email.

The gym is beautifully designed, and the beach is so close that it feels almost right there, less than a 3-minute walk away. The reception team were really friendly and helpful, and the cocktails were tasty without being expensive. I’d definitely come back.

The rooms had everything we needed, and I loved the flashlight by the door, such a clever touch. The pool area was cool, and the hotel is close to the beach but far enough from the music along the bars street. When we arrived, there was a bright rainbow over a deep orange sunset. I went to take photos and saw some reception staff come out to enjoy it too. As we got to know them, that first impression of lovely people proved right.
