Lamai Resort

I'm very disappointed. I paid extra for a seaview bungalow with one bed, but at check-in I was given a unit in the second row, tucked at the back, with two single beds. The staff denied there was a problem and offered no help, just told us to take what was available. When we contacted the owner, we were told this happens once a week. We had tried this resort for the seaview, despite having many other nice places at a similar price to choose from, and got something completely different.

The property seems very old and not maintained. For what we paid, the room and service didn't feel worth the price, and it almost felt like a scam. The bed was awful and so old that we had back pain after one night. They hadn't given us bedsheets. It feels like the place has a lot of potential, though. :/

A good budget hotel, very simple but with what you need. Some bungalows sit right by the ocean. The beach could be better cared for, with plenty of seaweed and the occasional piece of glass. The five-star beaches nearby aren't especially well maintained either.

The room is basic, with a wall fan and AC, but the bed is big and comfortable and the beach is clean. The place is a bit rundown, and you may have to sweep sand off the porch. That doesn't bother me when the waves are right at your doorstep. Great location and good value. Hearing them so close is priceless.
