Montien House Chaweng Beach Resort

The staff and breakfast were the highlights. Service was top-notch, and they really went above and beyond. The location made it convenient to get around, too. One small issue was that the pool could have been cleaned more during our visit. Our room in the main area was clean and spacious. The decor is a little dated, but the room was still comfortable. The beach bungalows tucked into the garden looked incredibly cozy and inviting. For better food, I’d head inland, away from the main street and beach, to find local spots. And be sure to visit the massage place just outside the hotel. They did an amazing job!

The room was fair for the price, but the reason I stayed at Montien House for about five nights instead of just one was the white cat. Meeting that cat gave me five truly happy days, and I’m so grateful to this little one. After we met, it felt like good things started happening to me. The cat really seemed lucky. I’d love to return just to see this white cat again.

We stayed a few nights at the end of November. The staff were friendly, the rooms and pool were clean, and the location was good, close to pubs, restaurants and shops. But the tide was always in, so despite paying extra for a beachfront stay, we never got beach access. The room listing said a double bed plus two singles or a sofa bed. We got one double and one single, which wasn’t enough for our family of four. Staff said it was their biggest room and we’d have to share a bed with our children. Also, the on-site restaurant is very expensive if you want to eat by the pool.

The location was the best, with everything just minutes from the hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff were really helpful with ferry bookings and taxi transfers. Great service and breakfast, too. What an amazing experience. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.
