Samui Blue Orchid

I stayed for a month and loved the location, with the beach about a 10-minute walk away and lots of nice places close by. Ai and Ban were both great and happy to help with anything. When my motorbike broke down, Ban even fixed it for me, and I made sure to tip him. The outdoor kitchen was the icing on the cake. Great place.

The villa is beautiful and has everything you need, and the service was great. They helped us whenever something came up and cleaned our room every day. We spent two weeks here during our trip to Koh Samui and really enjoyed it. The main downside was the construction right next door. It was extremely loud, made sleeping almost impossible, and woke us up early. A motorbike is definitely useful too, since walking up the hill in the blazing sun can be exhausting, haha. Even so, we’d recommend staying here.

The cleaning is what really convinced me to stay. Wildlife is everywhere in Thailand, but the villa is kept so well that I’ve never had any issues. It’s cleaned to the same standard as my home in the UK, where I have cleaners in London. The service is wonderful too. Even four months in, staff still greet you with big smiles. Once, a storm blew an umbrella into the pool. I told maintenance, and within two minutes it was gone and a new one had been put in its place. That’s the only issue I can think of. I arrived on Samui five months ago and tried a few hotels and Airbnbs before finding Samui Blue Orchid. The villas feel perfect for me and my girlfriend. The open-plan bedroom is huge, the shower is the biggest I’ve ever seen, and the sea view over the palm trees is beautiful. Then you can head downstairs to your private pool, with plenty of privacy even when sunbathing. It’s a 10/10 location for me, with beaches within walking distance and the main strip of restaurants at the bottom of the road. These are the best-value villas on this side of the island. A brilliant place to live or holiday, and for the price it’s a cut above the other options around here.

We had a great stay and would absolutely recommend the resort. It’s adults only, which made it genuinely relaxing, and we loved the privacy. The room was bright and nicely designed, with modern furnishings. We’re already looking forward to coming back. A couple of ideas for improvements: a wireless handset would make it easier to reach reception downstairs, or to answer when they call. Running upstairs every time the phone rings isn’t ideal. It would also be nice to have an outdoor shower downstairs, even if it only had cold water. Those are just suggestions, though.
