Abyss Hostel

I chose this hostel because I needed a cheap place around Sairee Beach while diving and going out nearby. It's one of the area's least expensive options, and the location at the north end of Sairee is excellent, so it offers good value. The covered outdoor terrace is the common area. My room was a four-person dorm, with one combined toilet and shower. There was a locker a little smaller than a personal item, but you need to bring your own padlock. There are no hair dryers, toiletries, towels, breakfast, or laundry service. The bunks have outlets but no lights or curtains. Bedding is already set up, and there's no elevator. The bathroom could be better maintained. The shower head holder points the spray right toward the toilet paper, and the hot water heater needs fixing. The sink faucet should be secured so it can be turned on with one hand. The room locks are awkward, with separate ways to lock people in or out, and towel hanging space inside the bunk area would help.
