Wonderland Jungle Hostel

The jungle setting is cool, though the hostel is a bit far from town, so you’ll need a scooter. It’s really nice, with great facilities, very clean rooms, and a sociable atmosphere that never felt overwhelming. I wasn’t keen on there being no female-only dorm option, at least when we booked.

The people at reception made this stay a blessing, especially Sendi. From the moment I arrived, she shaped the experience to be better than I expected. She knew a lot about the accommodation, was warm and genuine, and seemed to anticipate what I needed before I did. If you’ve booked somewhere else on Koh Tao, switch to the wonderful Wonderland Hostel. It’s a stay I’ll remember for the rest of my life. Ciao :) 🤍🪽

We got engaged on the island, and a friend asked the staff to arrange something small. They went way beyond that: flowers, a whole reception for us when we got back, and a big ice cake. The staff’s English was fantastic, and communicating was easy. We didn’t join the activities because we had plans outside the hostel, though with the great vibe I’m sure they’d have been fun. The place has a polished feel, and the rooms were great. Air conditioning ran from around 6 p.m. until noon, and the toilets and showers were very clean and well stocked. The top deck was cozy and had a lovely view. Smoking is allowed there, which didn’t bother us. They made nice cocktails too, with happy hour every day from 7 to 8 p.m. I heard good things about the attached restaurant from people who ate there. They also sell gas bottles for mopeds, which is useful because the steep hill uses up fuel quickly.

I planned to stay just a few days, but had such a good time that I extended my visit. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and very clean, and the atmosphere was a 10/10. I met amazing people, and the staff, especially the volunteers, made me feel welcome and did everything they could to help me extend my stay. I’d definitely come again! Take a taxi to the hostel instead of walking all the way with your backpacks like I did. Special shoutout to Mr. Art for driving us and picking us up 24/7. Thank you ka 🩷
