A Little Villa

We’d booked two nights, but left as soon as we checked in. The floors and furniture were dusty, as if the room had been empty for a long time, and the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned. We couldn’t get a refund because full payment was required at booking. The location wasn’t convenient for us. This may be less of a problem if you have your own transport, but getting a Grab was very difficult. Check the location carefully before booking. We waited 15 minutes for reception to arrive. No one was there, the reception area was closed, and we had to find the contact number on Agoda. If they know guests are checking in, they should be available or let them know when to arrive. Check-in was delayed for a long time because the receptionist repeatedly asked for a specific card or pass she said foreign visitors should get from immigration when entering Thailand. We didn’t have one, and none of our previous stays during our two-week trip had asked for it. She even came knocking after we’d checked in. Entry requirements had changed from 1 July, and accommodation hosts should know the current rules.

We slept so well that neither my girlfriend nor I wanted to get up. The breakfast was excellent even though we arrived after 9 in the morning, and the wifi worked well. It’s a cute little village with a special feel, all new in 2013. The staff are very friendly and willing to help with what you need, though their English isn’t very strong.

The owner is friendly and helpful, and the place is clean with a nice pool. It’s far from the city center.

I checked in, then went straight back out.
