The bed and mattress were good, the towel was clean, the air conditioning worked, and there was a large locker under the bed. Even so, the bad points outweighed those positives, and I can't recommend Nomad Hostel. My room faced an extremely noisy street, and I slept badly. The pillows were huge, thick and firm, and very uncomfortable. I also had to leave a 500 baht deposit for the room key. The place felt strange, dark and oppressive, with nowhere comfortable to sit and relax. I wish I'd left as soon as I arrived, though I only understood how it was affecting me later. It felt like the hostel had fallen behind the times, and might have been livelier and more comfortable a few years ago. There didn't seem to be any other guests, and I appeared to be the only one there. Other reviews suggest this happens often, and I underestimated how much that would affect me. When I arrived at the agreed check-in time, reception was empty and dark, though the front door was open. I waited in the hot reception area for the owner. There was no one around in the evening or the next morning either, which felt spooky. The lobby and common room were messy, hot and not inviting. There was no fridge and nobody offered drinking water. My room had one chair, no shelves and no coat hooks. The bathroom door wouldn't close, which would be a problem with a full room because you can hear everything. The bathroom itself was okay, but the shower badly needed a thorough clean. The shampoo was watered down and unusable, though luckily I had brought my own. Water pressure was poor, just a trickle, so I had to twist around awkwardly to get under it. At least the water was warm.

The price for what you get is incredibly good, and the warm welcome makes me glad I stayed. From the start, the place was clean, the staff were genuinely nice and helpful, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and individual, and there was both air conditioning and a fan. They also supplied a towel, shampoo and body soap. It's about a 15-minute walk to the night markets, but there are little shops nearby as well as a 7eleven. I'd happily stay here again. Thanks for making us feel welcome.

Nearby you'll find a convenience store, a small coffee shop, a local restaurant and self-service laundry. The hostel itself made a clean first impression. My bed was comfortable and had its own curtain, light and plug, so it felt private. The toilet and shower were separate, which was handy. The restroom light was a little dim, though not too bad. They had a water heater, shampoo, soap and a towel available, and Wi-Fi was free.

The family who runs Nomad Hostel are incredibly lovely and helpful. Jay, their daughter, speaks fluent English, so communication was easy. It had a warm, home-like feeling that I missed while travelling. I had a great time in Krabi, and staying here was a big part of it. The reception was large and quaint, a nice spot for morning coffee, a chat or just relaxing. The rooms were spacious, and the beds were really comfortable, with curtains that gave privacy even in a shared room. The showers were super clean and had hot water all the time. I'll definitely come back to Nomad when I'm in Krabi again.

It's a nice, clean hostel, with clean shared bathrooms in each dorm. The beds have privacy curtains, and they give you a towel for free. I enjoyed my stay despite some small communication hiccups. I asked about laundry and where to catch a bus to Ao Nang, and it was a little hard to make myself understood, but I did get my laundry done. They wash, dry and fold it for 60 baht per kg, which is a good rate. I also tried to point out a puddle from a leak under the bathroom sink, but the woman clearly didn't understand and just smiled and waved me on.
