Windsor Park and Resort

We got to check in before noon at no extra cost, and after checking out the staff kept our bags while we waited in the lobby for our night train. The station is conveniently nearby, but we didn’t hear the trains. The price is very reasonable and includes a breakfast buffet. The service was everything you’d hope for in a hotel. Thanks for the stay!

The room was good, with great air conditioning and a balcony for hanging wet clothes. I didn’t use the Wi-Fi or TV. My small gripes were that I’d rather have a bar of soap than little body-wash containers, and the towels weren’t very absorbent. Breakfast was simple, but the real butter was nice and the boiled rice was tasty, with lots of things added. The hotel is about 1 km from the historic sites, along a road that isn’t too busy to walk on. It cost 600 baht as a walk-in, or 480 on Agoda. One serious drawback: it isn’t suitable for wheelchair users or people with mobility issues. The elevator stops on a half floor, so you have to climb seven steps to reach it, then take the lift to three and walk down steps to your floor. I’d definitely stay again.

The rooms are basic but roomy, and the breakfast that comes with the stay makes the price good value. There are unlimited eggs along with basic Thai and Western food, enough to set you up for the day. It’s a cheap, cheerful spot for a one-night stay, about a ten-minute walk from the train station. The metal cages on the balcony helped me sleep more easily, knowing there’d be no monkey business overnight. There’s a great museum nearby, and the monkey-feeding area is a 15-minute walk away.

The front desk team were pleasant and very helpful, and breakfast was OK. Rooms are large and very clean. It’s a good hotel, and we’ll stay here again.
